East Austin Living History Heritage Gallery
History lives here.
The East Austin Living History Heritage Gallery at The Children’s Haven Association tells the story of the people who built, cared for, taught, organized, and sustained East Austin communities across generations.
Founded in 1946, TCHA has spent 80 years serving children, families, and neighbors from its historic home on Chicon Street. Today, we are transforming that history into a free, walk-in community gallery—bringing together photographs, archival materials, oral histories, art, and interactive experiences to connect East Austin’s past with its present and future.
